Member Update Newsletter

This August, we’d like to remind our members that at Erindale Leisure Centre, we are committed to fostering a supportive community environment that empowers and encourages you throughout your fitness journey.
We want to help everyone get the most out of their membership while exercising safely and confidently.
All you have to do is ask!
- Don’t know how to use a machine? Ask one of our friendly staff members for assistance.
- Need a spotter for a lift? Let us know. It’s always better to be safe and avoid injury.
- Not a confident swimmer? Please inform one of our lifeguards. They are here to help keep you safe.
- Need a little extra help for post-injury rehabilitation? Speak to one of our personal trainers.
At Erindale Leisure Centre, we are proud to support your health, wellbeing, and fitness goals, regardless of whether you’re a beginner or an experienced athlete with years of training experience.
Thank you for being part of our community—we look forward to seeing you in the centre!

Did you Begin?
Welcome to our Begin Program
We are always thrilled to welcome new members and be a part of their fitness journey right from the beginning. Joining a new space can be daunting; to make your experience with us as comfortable as possible, we are excited to share that we offer a complimentary Begin program with our qualified and experienced Fitness Professionals. They are here to help you stay motivated, provide advice, and regularly check-in so you are gaining the most from your Health, Fitness and Wellbeing journey with us. Here are the details of our complimentary Begin appointment.
Appointment – Beginning (45 minutes duration)
From the Beginning, we will take the time to introduce you to the gym, demonstrate correct techniques and use of the equipment. We will understand your goals, your motivations, and your reasons to change. We will build a baseline to measure and map your progress and develop a personalised gym program designed and demonstrated to you.

Group Fitness Spotlight
Strength and Conditioning
Every Thursday at 10:30am
Looking for a low-impact class that builds strength, improves mobility, and boosts your confidence in the gym? Strength and Conditioning is the perfect option to get you moving. Designed for all ages and fitness levels, this class is popular with beginners and those returning to exercise or recovering from injury. The focus is on improving the way your muscles move and function in everyday life.
This class combines light cardio, body weight exercises, and resistance training using bands, weight plates, and dumbbells. It’s a fun and supportive way to stay strong and active at any age.
Keep Watch Policy
Parents Supervise, Lifeguards Save Lives
This August, we want to take some time to revisit our Keep Watch Policy.
Erindale Leisure Centre proudly follows the Royal Life Saving Keep Watch Policy. We request parents/guardians to actively supervise the child under their care at all times, including during swim lessons when visiting our aquatic facilities.
Be it casual swimming activities or GOswim Swimming Lessons, we require parents to adhere to our Keep Watch Policy to ensure utmost aquatic safety for children.
Lifeguards and swim instructors are not babysitters. Please supervise your children at all times and remain free from distractions. Mobile phones, tablets, and laptops can limit effective supervision.
Meet Michelle
Michelle started as a member before joining the team. It was the welcoming atmosphere and strong sense of community that inspired her to apply for a role first on the gym floor and group fitness instructor, and now as the Health and Wellness Coordinator.
Michelle is passionate about helping people feel confident and supported in their fitness journey, and particularly excited about creating a group fitness timetable that caters to all members, especially those who may find exercising in the gym or on their own a little daunting.
Her special interests are injury prevention and supporting people to stay active, mobile and independent as they age or recover from injury. When asked what she loves about her role, she responded “I am proud to be part of a team that offers a knowledgeable and supportive environment for people of all abilities.”
If you see Michelle around the centre please say hello!
